The Austin Electrical Training Alliance is currently taking applications for the electrical apprenticeship.

What's the apprenticeship?    The apprenticeship is a 5 year program that trains you to become a Journeyman Inside Wireman and prepares you to pass the state of Texas licensing exam.

Best of all - you work in the electrical field while attending the program - Earn while you Learn!

The minimum salary for a new apprentice is $13.76/hour - and you receive salary increases throughout your time in the program.

* Total Wages are based on a 40 hour work week and using the wage rate for 26 weeks for a 6-month period or 52 weeks for a 1-year period.

Cost of Training:

Tuition1:  $650/year   (Tuition Reimbursement Program is available)

Tools2:   $250   (These are estimated costs and your actual cost may be lower if you already own some/all needed tools)

Dues3:   $ $37.25/month   (Union dues are payable each month to IBEW Local Union 520 and the current dues are $37.25/month.)

A laptop computer running at least Windows 7 is also required.
